South Beach is known as the Spanish Quarter and the reason soon becomes self-evident. Everyone speaks Spanish except for tourists like myself but the good news is most South Beach locals are bi-lingual. Pretty laid-back, the Deco area is total eye-candy. The brochures in your hotel and in the tourist office on Washington Av near 14 St. will prove invaluable if you want the low-down on activities like diving eating clubbing sunbathing taking a bus to the airport (150) etc. Just watch out for the occasional hurricane.
