Your tips Travel via Amsterdam on the way out and via Paris on the return to save nearly £100.00 pp when using Heathrow. This saves expensive transfers from central London to other airports to achieve the same costings and only takes an extra 60 - 90 minutes on the journey time.
Coming to Kiev for a long weekend in the middle of winter may appear crazy but you can pack in everything that London has for the same price or less including the flight. We enjoyed going to the opera for a fraction of the cost of going in London. Then we spent most of a day visiting the Aquapark and spa where again we made amazing savings on the costs of the spa compared to London with the benefit of experiencing one of Europe's largest indoor aquaparks. Then an evening out on one of the great restaurants that Kiev has to offer. Again great savings to be had but beware of the outrageous price for wine in the restaurants. In the day we found more than enough activities to keep anyone occupied during our time in Kiev.
