Your tips Use public transport. It is quick, efficient and mostly on time.
Amsterdam was a blur as we hurried through by train direct to Amersfoort from Schiphol.
This city has grown quickly since WWII from 50K to 150K population.
There is a beautiful medieval centre to the city with several canals. Houses were built on the foundations of the town walls 500 years ago and still remain. They are the 'Wallhouses' and very picturesque. The main square is the Hof where there are many pavement cafes.
The new housing is innovative and there are bus tours for interested visitors.
I heartily recommend a visit to this city which is unjustifiably missed by most visitors to Holland.
