I love San Fran and will definitely go back, it is a really great city to chill out in with lots to do, as people have said you can hire bikes and cycle and if you cycle too far you can ferry back with your bike. You can leave the city go over the Golden Gate Bridge straight into Muir Woods and it is a beautiful place for a stroll with a loved one, the trees are so beautiful and marvellous to look at. Alcatraz is great ... but do the full tour! and generally walking around the city taking in the charm of the old houses and architecture, the lovely little shops with pottery and the jazz bars, overall it is a great buzz of a city. I want to go back to the States and would love to combine San Fran with another place but yep you cannot be disappointed here!
