Your tips Be open to the city and the nightlife. Its worth taking in.
I had a great experience in Amsterdam in the sense that I met up with old friends after my meeting and we went out to see the sights and take in the Amsterdam culture and nightlife. "Coffee Shops", the Red Light District, pubs, clubs and the main square. Its a beautiful city with all walks of life. We had a great time.
My only complaint would be the Amsterdam airport where security was a nightmare. They did not have the capacity to handle so many people, and our flight was delayed as a result.
